I became a new mom this year and now have a handsome 6-month-old! Our goal after having children was to make them fit into our lives so we could keep traveling. These are some of the must have products I’ve used as a new mom these last 6 months!
Elvie’s products have been a lifesaver for us. They are discreet and give me the confidence to live my life still. With the pump, I’m able to pump discreetly and hands-free! I’ve used it on nights out meaning I don’t have to confine myself to a bathroom to pump. Their Curve & Catch cups also mean I can collect excess milk so I’m not worried about getting soaked in milk. The sleek design also makes it conveniently sit right inside my bra. This makes it both discreet and harder for the baby to kick off while feeding.
Any nursing pillow will do but it is a MUST. My neck and back (shout out Missy) have been saved! As we’ve had to do quite a lot of contact napping, it’s been comfy for my baby to sleep on.
The day we retired our Chicco Next-to-Me cot was the day I realized how vital it was with a newborn. Not having to get out of bed every time I needed to get up with the baby during the night meant more sleep for us both.
I didn’t get a sound machine until the baby was a couple of months old but I cannot recommend this one enough. With how much we travel, having a portable sound machine was a must. The Lumi sound machine also doubles as a night light though and I’ll turn it on while we’re up at night.
One of the many things I’m glad we did right away was take the baby out in public using his wraps and carriers. Now it means he will sleep in them and is so content in them. It is my “get out of jail free” card when we are out and about. We are careful to follow guidelines on how we hold him in the carriers and only use it when we need to.
- Phil & Ted’s Travel Cot
We got this after it was recommended by a travel group. And now I know why. This travel cot has been great for us. We take it with us just about everywhere. It’s light, easy to put together (once you read the directions and know how to), and it is super sturdy given its relative size. Our baby loves it and we can’t wait to use it again, this time without the bassinet!
